How we take decisions
Global Catering Awards is a non-profit group of catering experts. We choose who belongs on ChefAtlas — and we do it with a clear, exclusive standard, not with advertising spend.
1 · Discovery
Our experts scan markets by continent, country and city — host demand, cuisine depth, safety norms and operational signals. Pay-to-play pitches do not buy a place on the list.
2 · Score out of 100
Every approved listing carries a transparent score: quotes, staffing, cleanup, dietary care, fulfilment and guest outcomes. A perfect 100 is rare and earned.
3 · Host evidence
Reviews from real occasions matter. Villa weeks, boardroom dinners and celebrations teach us more than press kits. We weight substance over polish alone.
4 · Curator approval
Businesses may apply. Curators approve only what fits the collection — private chef and catering operators who clear the bar. Some markets stay tightly exclusive.
5 · Monthly chosen best
Each month we recognise one “chosen best” across the global collection for reliability and guest experience. Country and city pages still show the full shortlist — not a single brand on every front.
6 · Worldwide consistency
One standard from Singapore HQ to every atlas page. Same scoring language in Paris, Tokyo, Cape Town or Sydney — so hosts can compare with confidence.
What we never do
- Sell the #1 position on a country or city page
- Hide cleanup, staffing or pricing surprises as “fine print wins”
- Put one brand on the front of every editorial article
- Approve listings that are not catering or private-chef fit
